Applying for your new home loan with help from Pine Mountain Realty

When buying a home, applying for the loan is very troublesome for a lot of people, but it doesn't have to be. I have close working relationships with a lot of lending companies in the Pine Mountain area, and they've helped me learn some things that can make the process of applying for a loan easy.

1 – Organize a list of questions about your loan program

If you find that you don't thoroughly understand the ins and outs of the various financing options, make sure to bring a list of questions with you. It's a challenge to know the differences between both fixed and adjustable rate mortgages. I or one of my lenders can help you understand the advantages and disadvantages of both programs.

2 – Determine when to lock

By locking in the rate, your lender is committing to the mortgage interest rates for the loan – generally at the time the loan application is presented. By floating the rate, you can lock the rate anytime between the day you apply for the loan and closing. Those who choose to float presume that the interest rates will dip in the near future. 3 – Decide if you want to pay additional points to lower your interest rate
